NDIS - Home Modifications with Heart & Style
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding to help eligible participants gain greater independence, build new skills, and enjoy an improved quality of life. One important area of support is Home Modifications — custom changes to make your home safer, more accessible, and better suited to your needs.
Typically, this process involves an Occupational Therapist (OT) assessing your environment and writing a report with recommendations. These reports are then submitted to NDIS-registered builders for quoting and construction. While this system ensures that your essential needs are met, it can sometimes leave little room for your personal style, preferences, or say in the finer details.
That’s where Brinnie T Design comes in.
We believe that function and style can go hand in hand. A safe, accessible home doesn’t need to feel clinical or cookie-cutter. In fact, research continues to show that feeling “at home” in your environment — through colour, texture, and meaningful design — plays a crucial role in emotional well-being.
Many NDIS-compliant products come in a range of styles and finishes that meet the same standards and pricing benchmarks set by the scheme. Where something outside of standard specification is desired, it may be possible to cover that portion personally — but you still deserve choice.
With Brinnie T Design by your side, we’ll:

• Collaborate with your OT and builder to ensure the plan is compliant and cohesive
• Assist in product and finish selections that are aligned with NDIS guidelines and your personal aesthetic
• Offer clear communication on where and how upgrades can be included if you’d like to self-fund part of the project
• Create a home that not only supports your needs but also reflects who you are
You don’t have to settle for a space that doesn’t feel like yours. Accessible design can — and should — be beautiful.
