Accessibility Statement

At Brinnie T Design, accessibility is not an add-on — it is fundamental to how we design spaces, communicate ideas, and work with people.

We are committed to making our website accessible and usable for as many people as possible, including people with disability, neurodivergent users, and those who use assistive technologies.

Our approach to accessibility reflects our broader design philosophy: thoughtful, person-centred, and respectful of individual needs.

We aim to create a website experience that is clear, intuitive, and inclusive by:

  • Designing content to be easy to read and understand

  • Using considered colour contrast and legible typography

  • Structuring pages so they work with screen readers

  • Supporting keyboard navigation for users who do not use a mouse

  • Writing in plain, human language, not unnecessary jargon

  • Providing descriptive alt text for images wherever possible

Accessibility should support dignity and independence — not feel clinical, restrictive, or overwhelming.

Standards & Guidelines

This website is designed to align, where practical, with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

Accessibility is an ongoing process. While we make every effort to meet recognised standards, some areas of the website may not yet fully comply. We are committed to continuous improvement as our content, technology, and understanding evolve.

Known Limitations

While we strive to ensure full accessibility across the site, some limitations may currently exist, including:

  • Some older images may not yet have fully descriptive alt text

  • Third-party tools or embedded content may not meet the same accessibility standards as our core website

  • Certain visual elements may rely on colour for emphasis, despite best efforts to provide supporting text

If you encounter any barriers, we want to know — your feedback helps us improve.

Ongoing Improvements

We are actively working to improve accessibility by:

  • Reviewing colour contrast and text legibility

  • Improving image descriptions and page structure

  • Refining navigation and layout consistency

  • Ensuring new content is created with accessibility in mind from the outset

Accessibility is not a one-time task — it is part of how we design, learn, and adapt.

Accessibility Beyond the Website

Accessibility is embedded into our design practice — not just our digital presence.

Brinnie T Design specialises in inclusive and disability-informed interior design, working closely with individuals, families, and care teams to create environments that are functional, beautiful, and deeply personal.

We believe homes — and websites — should support real people, real lives, and real diversity.
